Apollo is a 1 and a half year old male Eurasian Eagle Owl (hatched April 2012). He was hand raised/imprinted in our home and began training to be in the “Wings of America, Birds of Prey Show” at Dollywood December 2012. Since that time he has performed in over 400 shows at Dollywood. Apollo is currently flying out of a box, over the audience, to the keeper and then walked around for the shows. He has no hesitation coming out of the box, flying to the keeper in seconds (he floats above the keeper’s glove when he flies in, not grabby in any way). He is very easy to handle, currently being handled by 8 keepers with no issues and no bad habits. Additionally, Apollo has done several educational programs for schools on location.
